Professor Mohamad Abou Hamia is an economic expert at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. He has worked as an economic advisor and an economic affairs officer for the United Nations where he advised a number of governments on issues related to the knowledge economy, private sector development, sustained economic growth, and decent job creations. He has published a number of articles on macroeconomics, economic development, and labor economics in peer-reviewed and international organizations’ journals.
Prof. Abou has taught economics at several universities in the United States and the MENA region. He received his Ph.D. degree in economics from Fordham University in 2007, master degree from the same university in 2004, and BA degree from the American University of Beirut in 1994.
