Community and Entrepreneurial Development Initiative is an NGO that fight poverty and youth unemployment by advocating for jobs and providing free entrepreneurship training, mentorship and funding opportunities. CEDI Ghana as commonly called, set unemployed graduates, underprivileged, street and disabled youth up for employment by starting their own businesses and employing others in their community. Other development areas we promote include maintaining peace and security, promoting human rights and fostering social and economic development.
This NGO was co-founded with university lecturers and top government officials (non-partisan) and we involve other stakeholders in a policy dialogue that encourage entrepreneurship and job creation. Our activities are funded through members contribution, donor support and grant from government.
CEDI Ghana won the 2017 Africa Youth Award Social Enterprise of the year, 40 Under 40 Award Social Enterprise of the Year, Middle East and Africa Business Award and was 2016 Africa Youth Award Civil Society of the Year finalist.
Community and Entrepreneurial Development Initiative mission is to promote national development. We positively impact the life of people. We are sensitive to the needs and concerns of the people and focus on attacking poverty and expanding robust, entrepreneurial and innovative economy. Communities need the resources and capabilities to become their own engine of development and that is what we support with the help of government.
Our vision is to reduce/eliminate poverty and reduce inequality. We seek a country wherein all citizens have the capabilities to grasp the ever - broadening opportunities available. Our plan is to change the life chances of millions of our people especially the youth, life chances which remain stunted by our history. CEDI Ghana has the goodwill, the people and resources to fight poverty and reduce inequality.
